Design and luxury
Kris Van Puyvelde and Frank Boschman met at university while studying in Antwerp, Belgium to become engineers. Years later, in 1992, they met again, each wishing to create their own company. They wanted to start importing outdoor teak wood furniture from Indonesia together, but soon discovered that the products were of poor quality and only made in a colonial style.
Determined, they decided they could create better designs and improve the quality of furniture. Within days, the company was up and christened Royal Botania, alluding to the natural beauty of the lush botanical gardens and the corresponding supreme royal classic furnishings they were to create.
The original idea of Royal Botania was to combine extreme quality with the freshness of teak designs. The company quickly established itself on the international scene as a synonym for high quality and luxury design. The company and the brand have gained worldwide fame.
